Pick a Role and Own It

Strong teams are built from clear roles. When everyone does everything, fights overlap and key jobs are left undone.

The five roles

  • IGL: makes the plan and the calls. Calm, organised, thinks ahead.
  • Fragger: takes first contact, wins duels, creates space. Quick hands and a strong appetite for risk.
  • Support: throws utility, covers, revives, trades kills. Selfless and reliable.
  • Scout: gathers information with sound, vehicles and positioning. Observant and patient.
  • Sniper: holds long angles and punishes pushes. Precise, quiet and disciplined.

Choosing yours

Ask what you do well when pressure is high, not what is the most popular. A scout with great ears helps the team more than a mediocre fragger. Run the Role Finder quiz for a starting point, then test it in scrims.

Owning it

  1. Know the job checklist. What do you do on drop, in the first circle, and in the endgame?
  2. Equip for it. A sniper brings the right scope and ammo. A support carries extra grenades.
  3. Communicate in your lane. Scouts report, supports call utility, the IGL decides.

Stay flexible

Roles are a default, not a cage. Learn the basics of the others so you can step in when someone goes down. But in normal play, do your job first, and do it consistently. The team can trust a player who is predictable in the right way.

Drill of the day

Take the Role Finder quiz on the Tools page. Then write down three things a player in that role does in every fight, and do only those for your next two matches.
